Weaponverse Eco Theory by Hybrid and Taisha with some inspiration from Nashi’s Eco Theory
In the Weaponverse (Weapon, Shift, Dishonor, Rebirth of Mercury, and Dunesong ) the theory is that since each person (in the game) turns to Eco after his or her death, that they go ‘back’ to the eco (ala FF7, in my opinion). The higher eco’s thusly have a sort of ‘hive mind’, along with Eco Ghosts (people who died, usually in horrible ways associated with eco, and thusly refused to move on, forming their own subhive of eco creatures.)
Green, Yellow, Blue, and Red, being of a lower order of Eco’s, have a less stronger hive mentality, but due to the relative commonity of the lower eco’s there are more frequent appearances of the eco ghost. Green eco ghosts simply do not exist, as they are for healing, and therefore not usually associated with strong urges. (Not that healing isn’t strong; but theoretically a Green Eco Ghost would simply go around healing people. A GE Ghost isn’t out of the question BUT unlikely.) Red and Yellow eco ghosts are the most prevalent, esp. in the old temples and forests. Blue eco ghosts are usually around the sites of workplace accidents and the track (being where Blue is most prevalent) and mostly cause innocuous accidents, though they have been known to accidently kill people by causing accidents on the track or overloading them with Blue (eco shock.)
The higher eco’s – Dark and Light- have a strong hive mentality. Due to the relative uncommonness of Dark and Light in natural culture where others can reach it, they are less common. LE Ghosts (as in Donna) tend to act more like ghosts overall, keeping their memories, but mostly unable to interact with people w/o killing them.
Dark has a strong hive mentality, almost sinister in nature. To quoth, “it whispers secrets” to those in tune with it, which is why the Hora Quan are crazy, also due to Dark being a naturally chaotic entity. Dark eco ghosts aren’t unheard of- more prevalent since Jak escaped. (DWP DE Ghosts?) EDIT: (Yep, the prison’s haunted, *plothinthint* Possible plot idea?)
Unsure if True Eco exists here, but it doesn’t make ghosts.
This is also why Weapon!Jak is slowly going insane, more so than canonically. Routine exposure (via HQ nest) is cracking his mind.
How does he get Light then? Donna basically goes into him when she see’s the calming effect he has, giving up her ‘individuality’ to counteract the Dark. This is also how Seem will train Jak- since he has Light.
Why Donna? The Precursors aren’t really on the planet. Neither are the dark makers. They’ve also sort-of given up on Jak, as Kor is the one who unlocks his powers.
Wasteland Metal Heads- they have no hive mentality. Why? There is small amounts of Light Eco in the waste. Over time, this LE has changed the mentality of the generations of WMH, who call themselves Metal Heads instead of Hora Quan. They’re still violent, but can be persuaded to trade (ie Kleiver) etc. They can’t ever exist literally side by side with the elves, but maybe mountain by city. Not close, though.

Eco Classification
The Two High/Soul Ecos (so-called because of they’re greater tendency to warp somebody’s mind)
-Light and Dark
The Lower/Earthly Ecos (much more common)

Eco Alignment. (More info will be added to this)
Every living entity on the planet has something known as an “Eco Alignment.” Eco Alignments is basically the creature’s natural eco affinity/immunity. For example, somebody with an Eco Alignment of Dark, will have a slight immunity to it and will be more likely to suffer mental disorders/be eccentric.
Eco Alignments tend to correspond to whatever eco is most prevalent in the region and whatever eco the living entity is exposed to the most when they were alive.
Eco Alignments also slightly influence an individual’s personality, with the influence being greater in more saturated higher-level channelers.
Basic Eco Aligments tend to be classifed as:
*Insert Lower Eco here* *Insert Soul Eco here*
i.e Blue Dark
More complicated Eco Alignments exist being like:
*Insert Two Lower Ecos Here* *Insert Soul Eco here*
However such alignments are rare.
Only in rare occasions will an Eco Aligment will be something like: Flux. Flux is a special case in which a channeler has a near-equal affinity for all the lower ecos and then learns to channel the higher ones as in Jak’s case.
An individual’s Eco Aligment will determine what kind of eco they will turn into when they die and what kind of Eco Ghost/Spirit if they refuse to move on.
Common Regional Eco Alignments:
Haven: Green Dark
Why: Haven was originally only Green with shades of the lower ecos and a small amount of Dark, thanks to the mass amounts of Green Eco in the area and the fact that the Green Sage resided here. However, centuries of Hora-Quan attacks has led to a greater prevalence of Dark. Dead Hora-Quan would then decompose back into Dark eco and centuries of this has led to the area being saturated in the stuff. Dark is the eco of change, so as such, the local creatures are more likely to suffer mutations and defects in their genetic makeup but life also survives thanks to this mixture even as the Metal Heads ravage the area. Dark might mutate but certain mutations might be beneficial and Green undoes some of the damage.
Other less common Eco Alignments include Blue Dark, Red Dark, and Yellow Dark.
Blue Dark is most often found by those who work in the industrial areas and in racing, such individuals are likely to lean toward a jittery paranoid nature with a natural high for any kind of rush. Impulsive, they often end up addicted to Haven's various intoxicants.
Red Dark's have shorter tempers and increased physical strength but their explosive nature leads them to being vulnerable to insane amounts of stress and heart problems. They rarely live past their prime. Yellow Dark's tend to be slightly more stable and often pursue long-term goals unlike the musthaveitnow of the Blues and Reds. Also, although a Red Dark is like an explosion, Yellow Darks are more like a small steady flame that eventually becomes bigger and more vicious as the Yellow Dark loses sight of everything but their goal. Both types can be found in Haven's military, as they are exposed to both ecos as it's used in their weaponry, force eco shields, and armour.
Light Alignments are pratically nonexistant unless one comes from a bloodline that originated in the Wasteland or are one of the few nobles descended from Precursor Monk families.
Havenites live less longer and with more health problems then Wastelanders thanks to the region's pollution and Dark eco. It's a crocadog-eat-crocadog world in Haven, with every Rae aka Elf out for themself. On the plus side, the region has been known for it's innovation and technological achievements in the past thanks to the influence of the Dark's chaotic influence, if Praxis' stranglehold can be removed, Haven might thrive yet again.
Wasteland: Red/Yellow Light
Why? Open Light Eco vents are much more common in the area. A noteable vent in Spargus is located right next to the water pumps. As such, Light eco from the vent has seeped into the water supply, affecting generations of Wastelanders. It’s theorized that the Light Eco has helped to make the population hardier with the Light’s small influence boosting their immune systems and having wounds heal slightly faster.
Red and Yellow Eco has also been found in the Waste, being used as ammo for their guns, vehicles, and channelers. Those with Red Light and Yellow Light Alignments tend to be aggressive and stronger thanks to the lower eco’s influence but is tempered by the Light, which has helped led to the community-focused survival of the desert tribes.
Green and Blue Eco is far more rare in the Wasteland, one of the reasons that the region is stark and devoid of plant life. The little amount that exists is either locked in the Light as the eco is made from a mixture of all four lesser ecos, with a greater ratio of Green/Blue, or scattered amongst the few oasises and settlements in the Waste.
As such, those with Green Light or Blue Light alignments are nearly nonexistant, found only among the monks, the few noblity that have survived the exile from Haven, or the odd Wastelander/Maruader that works either with in medicine or mechanics, but those odd ones have been known to have their Green Light/Blue Light Alignments flecked with yellow or red. Stubbornness is needed in the Waste after all.
Dark Alignments were once rare outside of the Hora-Quan Wasteland Tribe, but have been become far more common as Haven exiles it's criminals because of the overflowing prison system. However such individuals, will need to reign in their crocadog-eat-crocadog mentality and help the community if they wish to survive.
Alteration of Eco Alignments.
Eco Alignments change as the years pass. One starts with their Birth Aligment, the one determined by the regions' most common eco and their parents' Aligments. It changes as one grows up and becomes exposed to other ecos.
